A capacidade total instalada de geração de energia elétrica alcançou 140.858 MW em 2015, aumentando 5,18% em relação ao ano de 2014. As centrais hidrelétricas contribuíram com 35,4% de aumento. As centrais térmicas com 25%. Outros 39,6% de aumento correspondem ao crescimento dos parques eólicos e solares. Os resultados mostram que o Brasil está tornando cada vez mais limpa sua matriz energética.
A produção de eletricidade a partir dos parques eólicos obtiveram uma produção de 21.626 GWh em 2015, um aumento de 77,1% em relação ao ano anterior, em que a geração de energia alcançou 12.210 GWh. A potência instalada para a geração eólica obteve uma expansão de 56%, enquanto a solar obteve 40%. Entre 2014 e 2015, a oferta de energia a partir de fontes não renováveis caiu de 60,6% para 58,8%. Da mesma maneira a energia elétrica fornecida por fontes renováveis alcançou 41,2% contra os 39,4% do ano de 2014.

The total installed capacity of power generation reached 140,858 MW in2015, increasing 5.18% over the year of 2014. The hydroelectric plants contributed with 35.4% in this increase. The thermal power plants with 25%. The remaining 39.6% increase corresponding to the growth of wind and solar farms. The results show that Brazil is becoming increasingly clear its energy matrix.
The production of electricity from wind farms obtained a production of 21,626 GWh in 2015, an increase of 77.1% over the previous year, in which the power generation reached 12,210 GWh. The installed capacity for wind generation achieved an increase of 56%, while solar obtained 40%. Between 2014 and 2015, the supply of energy from nonrenewable sources fell from 60.6% to 58.8%. Similarly, the electricity supplied by renewable sources reached 41.2% against 39.4% the year of 2014.
